Damage Report is the second book in Immortal Outcasts,Mandy Roth's spinoff series to the Immortal Ops/PSI Ops series. I really love the characters in this series, they are all viewed as a bit damaged by those who create them and are now trying to destroy their "mistakes".
Weston Carol, a were-bear has been hiding off grid happily when he resurfaces to save the mate of a fellow outcast, Casey.
Now that he can return to his comfy life of solitude, Casey shows up to warn Weston that not only does he have a mate, but that she is in grave danger.
Towing along with Casey are sidekicks Bill and Gus, slightly off, strange and affected themselves by whatever was done to them during the experiments, they provide many hilarious moments throughout the book. Both are also quite important as they have powers of prediction and sight.

Weston might be annoyed by Gus and Bill to the point that he threatens to eat them, but he knows they may very well be correct and he must act to save this mate they say he has.

Paisley is a strong women who knows she is somewhat "more" than human, and has yet to figure out that she is a succubus despite the hunger she is able to feed from the energy she soaks up in dance/sex clubs. Desperately looking for her missing friend, Gayle, Paisley goes looking in the sex club where Gayle works. This is where Paisley runs into an all too sexy bear shifter who insists she is his mate. As hunky and gorgeous as this alpha shifter Paisley is wildly attracted to she is determined to let him know she is not a push over or weak dependent woman.
It was nice to see this couple realize fairly early on what they are to each other, accept their fates and face the dangers that await them together.
Bill and Gus are major highlights in the story who even manage to grow on the grumpy Weston.
Another character is introduced, Bane, and I am hoping we will be getting his story In the near future.

Just when it seems Weston Carol might get a chance to unwind, shift and withdraw from life once again, he is hit with the knowledge that he has a mate and she is in danger. Weeks before , he had helped the mate of his fellow outcast, Casey. He had once again been experimented on and the injections seemed to affect him differently this time. His dreams seemed more vivid and elusive. He could see a woman, only from the back, with long hair and a scent of berries and cream that he could not erase from his mind if he had wanted too. Was it really possible he had a mate out there, the other half of himself ?? Now he is in Seattle, with Gus and Bill, two humans who were subjected to the tests, torture and experiments he had suffered. But these two men had had far different responses. But these two are along to help Weston, and his fellow outcast Bane. They have both changed in ten years, but the bond between them remains. Heading to a house of pleasure, so to speak, to blow off some steam…Weston is slammed with the scent of her. The only thing he wants is to find her, claim her and take her home. The other scent him and Bane pick up on is not something pleasant though. This place is crawling with hybrids, masterminded and genetically engineered monsters…literally. Now , Weston and Bane are in a fight not only for their lives, but Paisley’s also. Paisley is the mate in question. Not entirely human, Paisley has no idea what else she might be. She has a hunger, but she is not sure for what. When she is attacked, Bane is the one to hold Weston back from danger and figure out more about Paisley. After they finally make an escape, with the knowledge that the hybrids are holding more Outcasts and have Knowledge of Lance…a PSI OPS member, thought to be dead…they know they have to bring in the PSI OPS. This is bigger than just the Outcaste can handle, and have no doubt, it WILL be handled. Upon their return to Tennessee, it is found that Paisley is Fae and Succubus and her and Weston are indeed mates. Now their life together is about to begin, with the the help of the other OPS teams and their friends.
